Weekend Happenings

10 / 16 / 17

It’s been awhile since I made updates of our weekend happenings.  I filed a 2 days PTO (Paid Time Off) at work in two separate days last week, that was Tuesday and then Friday.  Last Friday, I was able to go to a salon nearby our house to have my long overdue pedicure done. Haha!

Ian and I went to buy a new conditioner for our room. We have replaced our old Koppel 2 HP with an LG 1 HP Aircon.  Our old one is really energy consuming and is costing too much off our budget.  So we’ll see how it goes for the brand new one.

LG Aircon (1 HP)

After lunch, we went to Manila to do some errand and we were stranded due to the heavy rains at around 5 pm. We were able to reach home at around 8 in the evening. We had our lunch to one of Binondo’s best fastfood restaurant  Wai Ying, too bad as we weren’t able to take a snap of the foods that we ordered as Ian phone’s battery is already drained. I had milk tea and Rice Toppings (Minced Beef) Ian had pork something  that I forgot and black gulaman. We also ordered chicken feet, Hakaw and Bean curd roll which tastes like kikiam for me. Haha!

Saturday, off we went to Megamall to meet a client and I was able to buy a new lipstick and new wireless mouse for our notebook and blanket and towel.

Fleece blanket and Towel at SM Department Store

Sunday was spent at home while I do the laundry and Ian takes charge to look after the ongoing renovations for Gabby’s room. Can’t wait to see the outcome as we have already spent quite a lot of our budget for it. I am planning to put up a little office corner there. So we really need o save up again. That’s it for now… time to sleep!

Weekend Happenings: Attended a Birthday Party

9 / 30 / 13

I was up early last Saturday to do the laundry, good thing that Mr. Sun was all up to until the afternoon. So when it rained around 3 p.m. our clothes-line were already empty. I also did the ironing early evening.  I manage to finish all the household chores that day because I don’t want to get caught up with unfinished chores when we attend the party the next day.

Come Sunday, we went to the Marketplace around 9 in the morning (that’s the name of the mall) to buy the little girl a nice outfit to wear some of her dress doesn’t fit her anymore. We were at the party around four ‘o clock in the afternoon. It’s a Jollibee kidde party. Basti, the one year old celebrant was in his Superman costume. It was a fun Justice League themed party. Kids had a blast. WIll share the party pics in my upcoming posts.

We did enjoyed the sweetness of this dessert, tastes good and worthy of the Php 230 bill. We didn’t opt to buy for their flavored drinks  and only had water. We even actually had siomai with spicy sauce on the side. Haha! We would try out their flavored drinks on our next visit.

Weekend Delight

8 / 31 / 13

Finally, the weekend is here! As always, I do look forward to Saturdays and Sundays where I don’t have to go to the office. If there’s one thing that I like with my work schedule, that is only having to deal with the five day work schedule from Monday to Friday. I used to have a Saturday schedule in my previous work and I could say that it is really quite tiring. Considering that I have toddler then, I really have to adjust and it really is exhausting for me.

Imagine only having one day for rest and you really can’t actually call it a rest day because you have to attend house chores- a pile of laundry, ironing and a lot of cleaning to do. But  with my daily activities now, I don’t really think I have a rest day eh. I guess that goes with a lot of fellow moms out there. You are on duty 27/7 🙂

I’ll be meeting up some friends later today, friends that I met “online” a few years back and we’ve been seeing each other every once in awhile whenever Tere would flew from Davao.  A great break from the daily monotony of a mom’s schedule. I am pretty sure that there’s a lot of catching up to do. DH suggested that I give them something special on our meet up. You see, DH is more sweet than I am. Haha!

Long Weekend

8 / 25 / 13

We are currently on a vacation mode until tomorrow, Monday (August 26) in Lieu of the National Heroes Day Holiday. Yesterday, I was able to enjoy laundry-ing our clothes when Mr. Sun finally showed up brightly until late afternoon.

But it rained hard again last night and I thought of another horrible flood, just like what happened last week that led to suspension of classes due to monsoon rain enhanced by Typhoon Maring for about 3 days.

A 4 days total of no classes which includes the Ninoy Aquino Day last Wednesday (August 21). Classes resumed last Friday in our place,  Tuesday next week for other  areas in the Metro.

The little boy got a terrible colds last Wednesday, he was stuck on the bed the whole day. We made him this:

Fresh Dalandan

P1140174
Dalandan Water!

P1140180

Aside from cough and colds medications, this really worked well for him. He is up and active the very next day  and were able to go to class last Friday! 🙂

Hooray for a sun shiny Sunday morning today! continuous rain makes me really feel gloomy.   I hope it goes for the rest of the day and until next week as I am really looking forward to a meet up with blogger friends.

August 19: Classes Suspended In All levels in Metro Manila

8 / 19 / 13

It was a rainy weekend and yesterday afternoon, August 18 around 4 p.m it was already raining hard. Metro Manila mayors started to suspend classes early last night.  As of this moment, the office of the President have issued work suspension in government offices.

I did sent the boss an early text message of my leave of absence of work for today. I opted to stay at home for safety and peace of mind for DH,  since most areas on my way to work is flooded and there are lots of road construction here in our place.  I learned my lesson the hard way last year when  I did brave the almost waist deep flood on my way to work only to get sick after.

For now, we’re closely monitoring the news and weather updates. DH woke every now and then last night due to non stop rain to check downstairs. The usual, we were flooded inside the house. :(

I hope things gets better soon and since we’re stuck inside the house, kids were getting bored. Here’s what they did to keep themselves busy.

 Goofing around! P1140119

P1140120

… and here’s what DH prepared for our breakfast! Mine’s one hotdog sandwich and a longsilog and black coffee! 🙂 P1140125

Still got a lot of cleaning up and ironing to do’s for today,  and an online task to finish this afternoon. Stay safe and dry everyone!

Laid Back Weekend

5 / 27 / 13

I didn’t do much this weekend, except for attending the little boy’s summer enrichment program culminating day (photos and stories to follow in upcoming posts :))last Saturday. Yesterday, we did a little grocery shopping and bought some of the kids’ school things in the afternoon. I spent most the time in cleaning, laundry-ing and sleeping in between. Haha!

I love the weather over the weekend, I think summer is starting to bid goodbye as there are now rains in the evening (but please no flood shows!). Time to slow down with the AC use too, our electricity bill has been shooting up crazy!

We are so looking forward to the opening of classes in two weeks time, although we are not that financially ready for the school things expenses and tuition fees. I am still praying and hoping that we’ll be able to deliver. After all, I know that God provides! He has this way of showing me the right things at his own perfect timing. Miracles do happen when you least expect it right?! Right! 🙂

Is Black The New White?

12 / 2 / 12

Last Friday was a regular holiday which means no work and a long weekend for us workers! 🙂 We took advantage of the day to look around and go to a seamstress to have the little girl’s white dress fixed for her first communion pictorial on December 7.

We got her white dress from the balikbayan box that we received last year I think from Ate I which contains old and new clothes. 🙂 It was a sleeveless white dress but the requirement for the dress is to have a collar and sleeves.

So off we go to a nearby mall and look around for a satin bolero. Good thing we found one that is very cheap yet of nice design which perfectly matches the dress. Then we roam around to look for a white pair of shoes.

I asked the saleslady in the shoe section if they have white shoes, “ Miss,  meron kayo white shoes, gagamitin for first communion?!” then she said, “pili lang po mam”   I couldn’t find a black one from the array of shoes  so I asked her again for a white color, “ Miss, white shoes meron ba?” She replied, “ eto mam oh, black shoes, may glitters pa”

Oh men! Ang linaw nga ng sinabi ko na white shoes eh, ipilit daw ba ang black shoes?! Ahahaha!

So there, we were not able to buy a white shoes. Will save another trip for it to another mall perhaps. ;)

Weekend Happenings

11 / 26 / 12

I’ve spent most of my time offline over the weekend. Last Saturday, I woke up early to do the laundry to attend the PTA meeting in my son’s school. I also got his report card and his average grade went down by two points, maybe it was due to his getting sick prior to the exams. His average is 85.5 this time, still good I think! I don’t want to put pressure on him as I know that he can catch up fast when he feels a lot more better soon.

I actually am not worried about the grades because his health is our concern this time, he is now recovering and under medication. He is now back with his old kulit self, which is a good sign for us 🙂

Dear daughter on the other hand had her math exercises  for their MLEP, they are now on multiplication and division, it is quite hard for her on catching up on these two so I gave her few exercises to do. She’s kinda slow but I can see an improvement, which is really important.

My Sunday was spent on catching up on sleep and a little of household chores in the morning. I really decided to stay away from our PC since I know that I’ll be spending a lot of time again on it this coming week.

It feels good to really get sometime away from the online world to catch up with what’s happening offline. You get to appreciate things around you.

Now that we’re on the last week of November, I need to finish a lot on my offline and office task so I won’t be rushing out when Holiday break comes. I just can’t wait for the Holidays to come! Of course to spend a lot of time away from the four corners of our office to enjoy time with my family and friends more. 🙂
