5 Kayaking Destinations You Need to Visit

8 / 9 / 18

Kayaking is a hugely popular water sport all around the world and luckily for kayaking fanatics there are many gorgeous destinations that are perfect for you to visit with your kayak. From the polar Arctic to the South Pacific, every corner of the world presents the opportunity to go kayaking, however, some are definitely better than others! Here, we are taking you through the five kayaking destination that you need to visit.

Croatia

Croatia as a tourist destination has been on the rise for the past few years and it is now one of the most popular holiday destinations during the summer. With rocky headlands, beautiful beaches and picturesque ancient towns that can be viewed from the sea, it is not hard to see why this has become such as south after destination to visit. Many kayakers claim this is one destination that you must visit as you can paddle and explore the stretch of stunning blue water between Croatia and Montenegro. There are over 1200 islands in this stretch filled with caves and amazing reefs. Before going, it is important that you make sure you have found the best kayak for a long kayaking adventure as this can really make or break your trip. In their article “the best kayak seats of 2018” Best Kayak Reviews said that a good kayak seat can be the difference between giving up the sport and it being a lifelong pursuit, so ensure you purchase the perfect product for you.

Belize

The Caribbean for many people is at the top of their list of places to visit and if you are looking to do some kayaking while you are there, we would definitely recommend heading to Belize and the Belize Barrier Reef in particular. There are over 450 islands dotted around here and what ties them together is the stunning barrier reef. This is the second largest barrier reef on the planet and you will find over 100 types of coral here as well as over 500 species of fish in this underwater world. Go island hopping on your kayak and stop off to enjoy some snorkelling when as you go.

Galapagos

While there are many rules and regulation about tour boat access to the Galapagos National Park, these rules are not in place for kayaks which gives you an up close experience in this amazing environment. The real highlight of kayaking here is the extraordinary wildlife that you will come across including sea lions, giant tortoises and penguins.

Baja

Known as the ‘Mexican Galapagos,’ Baja is the stunning coastline of Mexico and the islands that surround it. The amazing tropical waters here are home to a plethora of marine life that cannot be found anywhere else. Paddle around on your kayak for the day before relaxing on one of the gorgeous sandy beaches in the evening to watch the amazing sunset.

Greenland

Have you ever thought about going kayaking in the Arctic? During the summer months, the Sermilik Fjord waters in Greenland make this possible. This stunning scenery includes hundreds of icebergs and cool wildlife such as seals and whales and really is magical to visit.

What to Expect During the Tour

As with the Underground River, you’ll have to take a boat ride to see up close the forests’ stately, centuries–old mangrove trees.

This 45-minute Mangrove Forest Paddle Boat Tour is a community-based ecotourism project created to educate locals as well as tourists about the beauty and ecological importance of mangroves.

You’ll get to learn about the forests from the person manning the boat, who introduces herself as Lady Mangrove. As the tour guide, she lets you in on the different roles of mangrove forests in the ecosystem.

One of these roles is to provide a barrier against waves and storms. Another is to provide shelter to wildlife species, including fascinating underwater and land creatures. (There’s a big chance that you’ll spot some of these animals during the tour.)

Lady Mangrove also teaches how to distinguish a male mangrove from a female mangrove simply by looking at the shape of their leaves. As an added treat, she even performs a lovely song by the end of the tour.

Tour details and tips

Make the most of your visit to the Mangrove Forests by taking note of the following:

• Registration fee is P150 per head.

• You can take the tour while waiting for your turn to enter the Underground River (where it could take hours to get in, especially during peak season).

• Traveling to Sabang to see the Underground River can be hectic, especially if you’re on a tight schedule. Making room in your itinerary for the mangrove tour will help you relax, as the forests offer the kind of peace that you can only find from nature.

• Contribute to the management’s conservation efforts by making a donation or planting a mangrove sapling in the designated area.

• If you are an adventurous foodie, or are willing to eat anything at least once, try the tamilok, a wood worm that lives inside dead mangroves. They taste like oysters and have become a popular delicacy among locals and tourists.

• There is a fruit shake stand near the registration area where you can order refreshing drinks while waiting for your turn.

• Be quiet during the tour. This is to ensure that the forest inhabitants are not disturbed while you tour their home.

About 40 percent of the Philippines’ mangrove forests can be found in Palawan. Don’t miss out on the opportunity to get a glimpse of these ecologically important treasures. Take part in the boat tour before you make your way to the Underground River, and your trip to Sabang is sure to be more meaningful.

I have this long overdue PB (photo book) project that I really want to start with and finish as soon as possible to avail free credits in Artscow. The husband went to Australia two years ago and he filled our 4GB memory card with tons of photo memories from that trip 🙂

I am not yet done sorting out which ones to be used and the theme that will go with it, but I have started scanning out materials that I’ll be needing in addition with the other photos.

Here are some of the Australian souvenirs and collectibles that Ian got from the trip!

A souvenir passport on their entrance to the Featherdale Wildlife Park

It got stamps of the different animals that they have visited inside the park. :)

Scan0016 It’s so nice too that they allow feeding and personal interaction with the animals there.

Things You Need To Know to Find Senior Dating Sites

1 / 7 / 13

In life, love relationships have always been one of the most important things for us. Sometimes it’s unavoidable that you don’t immediately find the right man or woman for you.

If you’re already a senior and you think you don’t have any chances left to meet your destined one, think again. There are many senior dating sites that you could give a try.

Most of us think that it’s not safe to join online dating sites. Whenever you share information about yourself online, it endangers your life. Anyone in the world could have access to your personal information, but there are ways to prevent this.

The following is a list of things that you need to know in finding dating sites:

· Licensed. The first thing to do when choosing a dating site is to check whether the site is licensed or not. If the site you’re browsing is licensed then you don’t need to worry, but if it’s not then you need to find another dating site. This is important simply because you wouldn’t want to risk endangering your life just because you chose the wrong dating site. Keep in mind that your safety always comes first.

· Country. This is another very important factor because you wouldn’t want to join a dating site that isn’t actually from your country. This is not important if the site you chose is a site that covers more than one country, but if it’s exclusive to one country then be sure to take note of this.

· Age. This is not extremely important but age still needs to be given some thought. You need to have an idea of the age of the partner you’re looking for. If you can’t think of an exact age, you could always give an age range.

· Qualities. This is one of the most important things you need to think of when it comes to joining dating sites. Since you will be finding your partner online, it’s very important that you have a list of qualities that you would want your partner to have. This is a must since those qualities will be the stepping-stone to finding the partner that is right for you. Sometimes the more specific you are the better since your choices could be narrowed down based on your preference.

It’s never too late to find your destined one. If you’re already a senior and still don’t have a partner in life, try dating sites for seniors and you never know, he or she might just be looking for you too.

DS’s Kinder-1 Educational Field Trip Part 2: Fort Santiago

3 / 11 / 12

It has been a month since I did the first part of my DS’s Educational Field Trip  post. Thank Goodness that there were pictures to get hold of those precious memories during the activity.

Our second stop: FORT SANTIAGO

Located at Intramuros, Manila.

We were able to reach the place just in time for Lunch. I thought we’d pass by to a food chain where we could buy some food but I was wrong. So I decided to just had our Lunch at a restaurant inside the Fort Santiago.

The design of the place is that of an old historical look!

Photo below are some of the things you get to see inside the place.

DS immediately run into this Cannon and immediately asked me to take a photo of him.

The ever famous Wall of Intramuros

Going back down the memory lane of our country’s history is one enjoyable moment worthy to share with our kids. We’re hoping to go back again next time with the whole family as we never really got the chance to explore everything what’s inside due to time constraint. I guess I am the one who enjoyed it the most instead of DS.
