Christmas Home Goodies

1 / 18 / 14

We got a balikbayan box filled with Christmas gifts last Holiday season. We were advised that the box might arrive late for Christmas due to  holiday’s peak season,  we were expecting to receive it after new year. So it was a surprise when it came on the last week of December.

“Our 2013 was quite a struggle but I would like to focus on the lessons learned, people who loved and supported us. FAITH, HOPE and LOVE is what made us through it all. Still looking forward to a brighter, fruitful and promising 2014 for us all! Happy New Year!

I would just like to add, A good health too! health is wealth! Though the the little boy and I is sick, it can’t put us down as we face the new year ahead. Bring it on 2014!

Christmas Blues

12 / 14 / 13

It’s exactly eleven days before Christmas, holiday mood sets in for many, except me perhaps?! I just couldn’t feel the same exciting and happy mood just like the good old days. Not that I am being negative, I just came to realize  that this Christmas will be a different one in terms of many things. First thing, we are broke- financially!

A sad thing that I don’t want to hide, not that I am ashamed of it and not proud of it either- just accepting the fact that we are in this situation. We are working on it, to make ends meet in a positive way.

Hopeful and thankful. That’s how I still feel despite all the challenges we are facing right now. Hoping and keeping my faith that all things will be ok in the end. As I always say whenever I am at the verge of losing hope and patience, “this too shall pass” . Things may not turn out the way I really wanted it to be, but things aren’t worst enough to break and tear us down either. Thankful that we are ok health wise, one great wealth that we consider to have still. Though Ian and I were feeling sickly lately, the kids are in the pink of health, except for the common sickness- coughs and cold.

Positive. When all things seems dreary, it’s hard to look at the brighter side. But in the end, I should fight off the lowliness. People around me needs me, my family. I need to be strong for them. I know that a glimpse of positivity sparks a great chance of good things bound to happen.

I saw this while browsing from my FB newsfeed, this is from Pope Francis  FB Page

Stop weeping! Don’t give room to sorrow! Don’t let the enemy break your spirit. The enemy can take everything away from you but he can’t take your joy, the joy of the LORD will forever be your strength. Let me assure you tomorrow will be all right.
Glory Be To God

Never lose hope, always. 🙂

Corporate Giveaways

12 / 2 / 13

I was sent to represent our company in the annual channel conference by the leading processor, motherboard, mobile chips maker Intel. I think it was my fifth time to attend such event. The usual, it was filled with many updates and informative discussion with the latest trends in the hardware and software computer industry.

There were games held in between the talks as an ice breaker. The goods and prizes given away are actually one of the things that attendees look forward to. Haha! I wasn’t able to participate in the games nor win in any of the raffle prizes. But at the end of the conference, everybody gets to bring home custom travel mugs and tumblers.

P1140249

I got this cute pink tumbler

I don’t know if I’d be still be able to attend next year’s event but I’d be glad and still looking forward to it, that it is if I am still around with my current work.

Hello November!

11 / 3 / 13

Hi guys! Been slacking with updates on my blogs. I did take the 3 days long weekend vacation to catch up with my offline activities- general cleaning the room,  laundry  and all the household chores that is! 🙂 Also, lazing around and staying more time in bed to either sleep or watch TV with the kids, because I wasn’t able to do so the last long weekend due to having Flu again! Also, the little boy catch the cold virus too! But he’s feeling alot more better now.

We didn’t go anywhere for any Halloween activities, aside from a trip to the salon for the little boy’s needed haircut and my scheduled pedicure session. lol! We were just at home, boring I know! It’s DH turn to get sick this time around last November 1, he was having a bad cough, achy chest whenever he coughs

I just really hope that the sickness bug in the family goes away soon! Here’s hoping to a better holiday season and a blast filled with positivity year ender for all of us!

Weekend Happenings: Attended a Birthday Party

9 / 30 / 13

I was up early last Saturday to do the laundry, good thing that Mr. Sun was all up to until the afternoon. So when it rained around 3 p.m. our clothes-line were already empty. I also did the ironing early evening.  I manage to finish all the household chores that day because I don’t want to get caught up with unfinished chores when we attend the party the next day.

Come Sunday, we went to the Marketplace around 9 in the morning (that’s the name of the mall) to buy the little girl a nice outfit to wear some of her dress doesn’t fit her anymore. We were at the party around four ‘o clock in the afternoon. It’s a Jollibee kidde party. Basti, the one year old celebrant was in his Superman costume. It was a fun Justice League themed party. Kids had a blast. WIll share the party pics in my upcoming posts.

Grateful First Friday of August!

8 / 2 / 13

We’re now on the eight month of 2013, time flies! Soon enough, it’ll be Christmas. Yay! 🙂 The first few months of this year was quite hard for us financially- debts, bills to pay, household expenses, kids tuition fee and many more! The thing is, our source of income is not enough to fund all of these things, what added to our problem is that our source of funds- my online job that is! wasn’t quite doing well at the same time.:(

We were really scared and really had to struggle to make ends meet. It was really hard to keep one’s spirit high in times of troubles right?! I’ve had bouts of depression then, good thing people around me are kind enough to understand what I am going through. Our family- DH and the kids ,whom we’ve had drawn strength from each other. We managed to get through hard moments. Laugh and cry around together and other things that made us stronger as a family 🙂

Good health is one thing that we are most thankful for. I really think it’s a balance, God won’t really keep us from burdens that we can’t bear. I just couldn’t think on how to survive *knock on wood , if anybody gets sick and we really don’t have money to pay for medical expenses.

SMALL LITTLE THINGS ARE BIG. simple things makes me feel grateful despite the problems and I think that is what matters most. To keep the faith and just move on, surrendering everything to God and bit by bit, things will settle and you’ll get by. Just what’s happening right now, things are getting well. It may not be that big, but enough to keep us in our comfort and peace of mind!

MIA

6 / 19 / 13

… again…

Time again, I’ve been caught up with a lot of stressful things offline. Things have been disappointing and that I really don’t know what to do anymore  :(. But slowly, things are now turning better, some things are fixed. If there’s one thing that I realized in this kind of situation, the only help that you can get is from GOD and yourself.

People will turn their back in you in those moments that you needed them. You will be left alone to face the battle. So it’s between HIM and you. I am just so glad that HE sent good and wonderful people to aid us in despair.

So I am moving on, learned my lesson. Keeping the faith still!

Somewhere, somehow, all these things shall pass. I can’t wait to see the rainbow after this hard rain on us!

Happy Mom’s Day!

5 / 17 / 13

Yes, I am that way behind in greeting fabulous moms out there. Haha! As always, I am caught up with some things offline, so the reason for the lack of updates here. You know, I just don’t feel writing when I feel low for I might regret all the things that I might say later on. I should have saved the space for more positive things to say instead of you reading some sad stories here. 🙂

As for Mother’s Day celebration last Sunday, we just stay home (again). I did the my weekend routine, laundry, cleaning and catching up on sleep… But, we had a great Caldereta for our lunch!  Recipe taken from the black book (  special handwritten recipes from Ian’s late mom) The Caldereta should have beer as one of the ingredients but since there was liquor ban, it was slashed off from the list. Hahaha!

Wondering how it looked like? I really mean to take a snap of it but kids were too hungry that they couldn’t wait for any photo op to take place anymore. LOL!

Only this yummy Mango Cake from Red Ribbon as their Mother’s Day  gift to me.

P1120524

The next day Monday, Ian and I went early around 7 am to the polling precint to cast our votes. We were done in less than 10 minutes!

For my senator bets, I wasn’t able to fill up the 12 slots. Out of the 9 candidates, only 7 of them made it to the senate. 🙂 For locals, I voted for my same old bets.

I still got some catching up to do, save that for another post!
