The Smart and Easy Way of Cooking Your Noche Buena This Christmas

12 / 23 / 2212 / 23 / 22
The Breville Smart Oven Air Fryer

The holidays are always such a big eating season for everyone. It’s that one time of the year
when we feel extra carefree about what we eat because seriously, have you really enjoyed
Christmas without jumping from one banquet to another?
But what if we tell you that you do not need to sacrifice healthy eating to enjoy the season?
Even more, what if you find out that you can whip up your flavorful recipe in minutes in your own
kitchen?

Breville’s Smart Oven Air Fryer should be on every Christmas wishlist of all home cooks out
there. Versatile, easy to use, and very durable, this oven from the premium home brand can
give you the best of both worlds in terms of flavor and ease of cooking as you cruise through the
holidays.

One of the beauties of the Smart Oven Air Fryer is its ten cooking functions that can let you
make to-die-for crispy treats and scrumptious slow-cooked meals. Toast, bake, roast, grill, and
of course air fry without any fuss while shortening your cooking time. Equipped with Dual Speed
Convection, this kitchen partner speeds up the cooking process by raising hotter air while
sinking colder one. The result: 30 percent reduced cooking time as compared to regular ovens
and air fryers!

Richie Zamora, the vlogger behind The Pickiest Eater in the World makes a perfect case for this
when he prepared a full spread of TV chow snacks for his family to enjoy in minutes. He shares,
“All these amazing snacks were cooked in the air fryer with absolutely no oil. Everything was
cooked to a beautiful crisp, but you don’t even realize that they aren’t deep fried.”

Let’s Eat Pare also showed how fast and easy it is to make restaurant-level fried crispy wings
with Breville Smart Oven Air Fryer. In just 20 minutes, they were able to make a big batch of
chicken wings in sour cream flavor! You can check out their recipe here if you want to try their
version.

The Breville Smart Oven Air Fryer

Of course, preparing healthier versions of dishes is another thing that makes this kitchen must-
have from Breville essential. Air frying significantly reduces—if not totally removes—the use of
oil in cooking, which means that you consume fewer calories and prevent weight gain and
obesity when you air-fried food. Fortunately, for the Smart Oven Air Fryer, you don’t need to
worry about sacrificing flavors just to go the healthier route. Chef Beng proves this when she
made a Pinoy-style whole fried chicken using it.

“Normally, I will have this deep fried, but using an air fryer is apparently so much better as the
chicken is amazingly crispy, juicy, and full of flavor. Not to mention, this is a way healthier
process than deep frying.”

She also shares that she loves the precision with time and temperature that this Air Fryer
provides. “Just press a function and it automatically shows how long and high the cooking
process will be.” This is made possible by Breville’s patented Element IQ System which is a
smart algorithm that decides the ideal cooking environment for a range of different cooking
techniques.

The Breville Smart Oven Air Fryer is definitely the kitchen partner to have this holiday season if
you want to enjoy healthy, delicious meals minus the fuss. As Richie, Chef Beng, and Let’s Eat
Pare say, respectively:
“The Breville Smart Oven Air Fryer proves that cooking doesn’t need to be greasy to be
delicious, and preparing food with less guilt doesn’t mean less flavors either.”
“It has 10 cooking functions which makes it a value-for-money purchase. I totally love it and I
highly recommend this smart kitchen appliance.”

“It’s the ultimate kitchen tool you need to put on your Christmas shopping list, pare!”
What are you waiting for? Add the Breville Smart Oven Air Fryer to your holiday wishlist now. To
know more about the product, visit the Breville website and follow their Facebook and Instagram
pages.

Kawit Celebrates Christmas with a Historical Touch

12 / 21 / 19

Christmas has been of the most festive and important occasion that every Flipino families look forward to. But due to the fast paced of our living nowadays and being so westernized that kids do usually forgot the old and usual ways we celebrate it in the good old traditional way.

So it’s pretty good to look back and relive the old traditions of celebrating it, nothing beats going historical places of our very own local places. Kawit Cavite is one great place, the birthplace of Philippine independence.

It’s that time of the year where the Philippines celebrates another festive season. Despite the hustle and bustle of the busy and traffic streets and establishments, everyone busy getting their Christmas shopping done. There are a few sights and sounds in nearby areas where we can feel the true spirit of a Filipino Christmas, especially with our loved ones.

Christmas has always been a part of the Filipino tradition and culture and what better way to celebrate the holidays is by visiting some of the most historic sites in the country with your friends and loved ones. Kawit in Cavite is one of the most
sought-after historical sites in the country today and it is one that you should visit this Christmas Season.

Kawit, Cavite is home to some of the most historic sites in the Philippines. This is where the Aguinaldo Shrine is situated wherein the Philippine flag that we know of today was first waved publicly announcing our Independence by none other than the first Filipino President Emilio Aguinaldo. There’s also a lot to learn about our first president and how he has lived his life and times during the revolution era. Beyond the Shrine also are other sights to see including the “Museo ni Baldomero
Aguinaldo” hailed towards the cousin of Emilio Aguinaldo and grandfather of Cesar Virata who as a prime minister in the 1980s.

Kawit also boasts rich crafts and delicacies including the Pandayan or the local blacksmithing shop. Blacksmithing is an endangered craft that needs to be promoted and preserved. The local Pandayan is still active and you can still buy handcrafted knives and bolos made the same way during the Revolutionary era. The Christmas specialty – Puto Bumbong or a rice cake with shaved coconut and muscovado sugar is a staple food trip stop that shouldn’t be missed when visiting Kawit.

Kawit celebrates the Christmas season through a spectacular display of lights at the Aguinaldo Shrine and Freedom Park. The Christmas lighting event was held last December 14, 2019, and a number of distinguished guests and celebrities joined in the celebration of the event. A fireworks display and lighting of the Christmas lights at the Freedom Park was also held.

Make sure to visit Kawit Cavite this Christmas Season and enjoy the season filled with pride in our own heritage and historical sites in Kawit. The Municipality of Kawit welcomes everyone who wishes to visit Kawit during the Christmas
season.

Welcome 2015!

1 / 14 / 15

20141231_100455

Yay, so here I go again… Doing a late post (what’s new?! *rolleyes) hahaha!

The year 2014 marks a lot of important events in our family. This year is quite a hard and trying times in terms of money and finances. We really adjusted to the best of our capability. We were so glad of the financial help and support of our families (both side).

Last April 2014 was also the time when we ventured into a small home based business. DH opened up and converted our garage into a small eatery or carinderia. At that time, I was still employed and juggling my activity as  Day-Time Office Worker and Dishwasher at night. Haha! Come the month of May, I am really decided to take full-time in helping DH out in our small business. So I submitted my resignation letter the fist week of July and tendered my resignation effective August 2. But then, the boss kept on asking for an extension of my stay to help out/teaching the new employee of my tasks. I could only offer until the 3rd week of August.

The month of June was a chaos, at least for me. This is the time where the kids supposedly be in school already. Through the help of prayers and people around us, they were able to even though it’s late.

Last December, Ate I and her family went home from Australia for a vacation. They came on the eve of Christmas! We had a great time for the usual Christmas Noche Buena. We even played the Christmas cracker game.

What Do Ghosts Eat? Spookghetti. 🙂

 Fun game indeed!

Then came the usual gift giving. Kids as always were in their high spirits as they open up their gifts.

The little girl went crazy as she got 4 sets of Loom bands crafting materials this Christmas. LOL!

While the little boy got Lego and Mario bros. toys.

20141225_084109

I got a very nice umbrella and a swimwear for all of us. Lots of new clothes too.

20141225_083823

December 27, my childhood friends and I had a get together again. It was two years ago since we met. But this time around, only four of us were able to make it.

We met at Trinoma and spent the whole afternoon catching up.

Holidays are really the best time to enjoy and spend time with family and friends enjoying the festive occasion and all the things it has to offer.

We welcome the new year by the beach as we were invited by my sil, Ate I with her family to celebrate and welcome 2015 there.

We’re still in the process of learning and coping up until now so I am looking forward to a more peaceful and less stressful year this time around. Hahaha!

Lots Of Christmas Gifts

12 / 26 / 13

How was your Christmas yesterday?! Ours was spent with good quality time with the family. We went to my side of the family in the morning, my mom cooked Afritada and Pansit Canton . Kids get to play with their cousin Dwyane. Around 3 –4 pm. We went to DH’s side of the family to greet his Aunt’s and Uncle a happy holidays.

Again, we feasted on foods and catch up with other relatives who was also there. Kids got a lot of Christmas presents- money and lots of toys! DD also received a toy guitar which actually looked like a real one. Now her passion for guitar were somewhat renewed. haha! So I told here we will look for  a good beginner acoustic guitar lesson at Musicians Friend. I really hope that she’ll be more serious this time around. Summer is fast approaching and we’ll see if we could have a go for her summer lessons in guitar.

Christmas Blues

12 / 14 / 13

It’s exactly eleven days before Christmas, holiday mood sets in for many, except me perhaps?! I just couldn’t feel the same exciting and happy mood just like the good old days. Not that I am being negative, I just came to realize  that this Christmas will be a different one in terms of many things. First thing, we are broke- financially!

A sad thing that I don’t want to hide, not that I am ashamed of it and not proud of it either- just accepting the fact that we are in this situation. We are working on it, to make ends meet in a positive way.

Hopeful and thankful. That’s how I still feel despite all the challenges we are facing right now. Hoping and keeping my faith that all things will be ok in the end. As I always say whenever I am at the verge of losing hope and patience, “this too shall pass” . Things may not turn out the way I really wanted it to be, but things aren’t worst enough to break and tear us down either. Thankful that we are ok health wise, one great wealth that we consider to have still. Though Ian and I were feeling sickly lately, the kids are in the pink of health, except for the common sickness- coughs and cold.

Positive. When all things seems dreary, it’s hard to look at the brighter side. But in the end, I should fight off the lowliness. People around me needs me, my family. I need to be strong for them. I know that a glimpse of positivity sparks a great chance of good things bound to happen.

I saw this while browsing from my FB newsfeed, this is from Pope Francis  FB Page

Stop weeping! Don’t give room to sorrow! Don’t let the enemy break your spirit. The enemy can take everything away from you but he can’t take your joy, the joy of the LORD will forever be your strength. Let me assure you tomorrow will be all right.
Glory Be To God

Never lose hope, always. 🙂

Holiday Vacation Mode

12 / 24 / 12

We were finally done with our last office working day for the year last Friday, December 21. We’ll be back next year, January 3. So I am now rushing out on some online tasks to be on full blast holiday mode until after Christmas.

I’ll be spending time offline starting tonight to celebrate Christmas with family and the whole day tomorrow to visit some relatives to greet them happy holidays. 🙂

Yesterday, my sister and her family together with my niece visited us. Kids are pretty excited to see their cousin Dwyane, it’s been a long time since they saw each other.

The little boy on the other hand has a slight fever now. I hope it’s nothing serious and that he’ll be fine soon.

DH will be cooking Carbonara for our potluck share for the Noche Buena tonight with my Ate I’s family.

Advance Merry Christmas to you all! 🙂
