Happy 41st Birthday Daddy!

10 / 28 / 18

15 years…

That’s how long we’ve been together.

5,479 days
131,496 hours
7,889,760 minutes
473,385,600 seconds

We had 15 birthdays celebrated together and we had our precious treasures…

Gabby and Nicco

Now you’re 41!

I’m not good in Math, I know. Ginoogle ko lang yung calculations. Haha!

Our love story is another one for the books. We really had nothing when we began and decided to build a family together…

Looking back, I know that our faith in God next to our faith in ourselves have saved us during our trying times.

Prayers has been my weapon every time during our lowest point in life. Hindi naging madaling mahalin ka, pero ikaw yung pinagdasal ko. Alam kong hindi rin naman ako yung gugustuhin mo nung una, pero alam kong ako din yung ipinagdasal mo. So quits lang tayo. Haha!

Everything happens for a reason, we learned a lot and saw how we both matured as we grow into a family.

I’ve been always your critique and sounding board for all your musings. Remember how I listen to your stories abut your friends?! I know them since day one even if I haven’t met them yet.

I’ve been a witness to all of your struggles and proud that you’ve overcome everything.

Thank you for fighting and always not giving up on us.

I know how happy you are for having Gabby and Nicco. They are your answered prayers…  How you long to have a family of your own…  I am happy as well that your dreams have turned into a reality. Your kids are now growing up too fast.

I love you for being a selfless father to your kids. I can always see and feel your happiness whenever you talk about them, how you’d do anything for them… For us,  for the family!

I love you because you never hold grudges to anyone no matter how they’ve done you wrong.

They can say anything against you, but I saw the goodness of your heart  (Though is getting weak lately)

Your childlike attitude towards life… So simple yet so real…

I love how you value friendship and be of help whenever you can, with or without favors in return…

You are our best cook! I see your joy in cooking for others and how you love to see us full and enjoyed the foods you prepared for us…

Thank you and we look forward to celebrating more birthdays in the coming years together…

Happy Birthday and WE LOVE YOU!

Grateful

2 / 12 / 14

Yesterday was my __th birthday! 😀 Since I took off my birthday alert over at Facebook, there were only a few greetings and mostly from family members.  Haha! Anyway, I got my early gift ( an answered prayer) a week ago. Nothing really grand but I am so thankful as it actually did save me from a terrible headache.

I have been MIA in all of my blogs for the past weeks… The reason? My feet is in terrible pain and I couldn’t find the energy to sit in front of the PC when I got home from the office like I usually do. I’d rather lay down in bed instead to find comfort for my aching feet. I noticed that it started or should I say that the pain didn’t go away since I had measles the last week of December. Now I am afraid because my hands are getting the same kind of pain.

I did consult Google and found out that it could be viral arthritis, it has been a month and I have no choice but to check out with the doctor for the right medicine on this soon.  With this, I appreciate small and simple things more, to be grateful and thankful for every bits and pieces that I enjoy doing the most. Because even the simple thing like alighting from a public vehicle is quite a tedious task for me now.

But nevertheless, I am looking forward to al lot of good things happening to me this year of the horse which happens to be My Year! 😉

Also, last January marks my 6th year into this so called blogging world!  How I miss those “opps” blogging days. sigh! haha! Looking forward to more online blessings still. 🙂

I am wishing for many good luck, good health and more blessing ahead!

Weekend Happenings: Attended a Birthday Party

9 / 30 / 13

I was up early last Saturday to do the laundry, good thing that Mr. Sun was all up to until the afternoon. So when it rained around 3 p.m. our clothes-line were already empty. I also did the ironing early evening.  I manage to finish all the household chores that day because I don’t want to get caught up with unfinished chores when we attend the party the next day.

Come Sunday, we went to the Marketplace around 9 in the morning (that’s the name of the mall) to buy the little girl a nice outfit to wear some of her dress doesn’t fit her anymore. We were at the party around four ‘o clock in the afternoon. It’s a Jollibee kidde party. Basti, the one year old celebrant was in his Superman costume. It was a fun Justice League themed party. Kids had a blast. WIll share the party pics in my upcoming posts.

Mom’s Birthday

8 / 25 / 13

We will be going to my parent’s place early morning tomorrow to greet my mom in advance a Happy Birthday! She will be celebrating her birthday on the 28th and since it will fall on a work week plus kids have classes, it won’t be possible for us to visit and greet her personally.

Kids prepared dance gifts for her. We would like to give her a cake, but since that is not allowed by the doctors for her, we just opted to prepare something healthy for her. DH will be cooking Tuna pasta for our lunch gathering tomorrow. It’s been awhile since we visited our parent’s place and the kids surely miss their cousin. Hoping for a good weather by tomorrow!

She Just Turned 9!

4 / 28 / 13

gabby @ 9

… Yesterday, April 27. We just stayed home on her birthday. Ian did prepare baked macaroni while Ate Irene gave her chocolate swirls and twirls cupcakes. Her cousin Ate Lalen and Dwyane came over to personally greet and surprise her a birthday gift. They brought Ube flavored roll cake for her and a Hello Kitty pencil case!

Dear Gabby,

Time and again, we won’t get tired of giving thanks to God for bringing you into our lives. With the way things are going, from that “ I love you” Barney song when you were still little to now, “Neseye ne eng lehet” song that I heard you singing :D  You will still remain our little baby girl.

Just always remember that we are here to support and guide you.

Love,

Daddy, Mama & Nicco 😉

Birthday Treat

2 / 12 / 13

Ian did cooked something special for our lunch last Sunday, Feb 10. Our Chinese New Year and my birthday celebration rolled into one feast. 🙂

Our latest family pic.

Nothing really fancy, only my family, Glenn (thanks for the Tikoy!) and Mona my sister’s friends came over to greet.

Yummiest ube cake made by Ate Irene

Grilled Liempo

P1120299

Siomai!

P1120300

Baked Chicken w/ Rosemary

P1120297

Eggplant Salad

P1120298

All of them made and prepared by Ian 🙂 I did the slicing on some of the ingredients. Hoho! We also had Carbonara and Leche Flan.

My kids were busy playing around with their cousin Dwyane whom they haven’t seen for quite sometime. You know how it is when kids go and play, riot!

at 35, I am so thankful and grateful for an added year in my life. I only wish for a good health and long life so that I can really take good care of my family. I have so many material things that I wish to have, but they do came least on my priorities now.

I just want to  keep things simple and less complicated. Learning to accept and appreciate things coming my way and  avoid whining when things turn sour.

“Positive thinking is not expecting the best to happen every time but, accepting that whatever happens is the best for this moment” – unknown.

Birthday Gift For Dad

7 / 8 / 12

Three months to go and it will be DH’s birthday. I am looking around as early as now on what to give for his thirty something birthday, I’ve been searching the net for  hours looking for the best birthday gifts for dad, I want to give something extra special for him since we wasn’t able to give one last year.

I am pretty sure he’d be delighted to see this yummy Full Dozen Hand dipped Sports Berries on the table.

On Kids Birthday Parties

6 / 3 / 12

When I was a kid, I am not used to having birthday celebrations then because we were always in a tight budget. Not that I am complaining because I knew that my parents are working really hard to send us all five of their kids to school.

I am far more than happy whenever I have spaghetti and cake on my birthdays. 🙂 Now that I have kids on my own, we also make it a point to  celebrate their birthdays. Birthday is a celebration of life.

Having a kid’s party doesn’t really have to be grand always, there are budget friendly package that you can have like the kids birthday parties Denver where kids can play games and other recreational activities using LEGO® bricks.

Bricks 4 Kidz offer different programs for students using those legos that are helpful in building up their confidence and lively imagination and become more creative on crafts and arts.

There are different themes that you can choose from, these are far more exciting than the usual playing activity. Learning is fun through creative play with all those helpful education toys and all. Bricks 4 kids also specialize in summer camps Denver. A great and unique way of fun learning.

Clowns: Scary or Funny?

5 / 3 / 12

P4200852

Dear son did not participate in any games during a birthday party that we attended a couple of weeks ago. He said that he didn’t like the host (clowns) because they were scary. He finds their face pretty weird as he said.

He didn’t dare to go near those clowns. Oh well, we explained that it was just a make-up and it is suppose to make kids happy and not scary. We didn’t push him though to join. Maybe next time, he’ll overcome his fear for clowns when he became a little more older.

Make a Wish!

5 / 3 / 12

P4270888

We were kinda short in budget when dear daughter celebrated her 8th birthday last week. Good thing kids are understanding enough to know our situation.  We just had spaghetti and a cake 🙂 .

From the photo above, my son is asking her Ate to make a wish first before she blows the candle. He even had his share of wish too. Ahaha! He said that he wants a remote controlled airplane/ helicopter. Let’s see if we can grant his wish for his 6th birthday in three weeks time 🙂 Hope we have enough budget by then 😉
