Christmas Blues

12 / 14 / 13

It’s exactly eleven days before Christmas, holiday mood sets in for many, except me perhaps?! I just couldn’t feel the same exciting and happy mood just like the good old days. Not that I am being negative, I just came to realize  that this Christmas will be a different one in terms of many things. First thing, we are broke- financially!

A sad thing that I don’t want to hide, not that I am ashamed of it and not proud of it either- just accepting the fact that we are in this situation. We are working on it, to make ends meet in a positive way.

Hopeful and thankful. That’s how I still feel despite all the challenges we are facing right now. Hoping and keeping my faith that all things will be ok in the end. As I always say whenever I am at the verge of losing hope and patience, “this too shall pass” . Things may not turn out the way I really wanted it to be, but things aren’t worst enough to break and tear us down either. Thankful that we are ok health wise, one great wealth that we consider to have still. Though Ian and I were feeling sickly lately, the kids are in the pink of health, except for the common sickness- coughs and cold.

Positive. When all things seems dreary, it’s hard to look at the brighter side. But in the end, I should fight off the lowliness. People around me needs me, my family. I need to be strong for them. I know that a glimpse of positivity sparks a great chance of good things bound to happen.

I saw this while browsing from my FB newsfeed, this is from Pope Francis  FB Page

Stop weeping! Don’t give room to sorrow! Don’t let the enemy break your spirit. The enemy can take everything away from you but he can’t take your joy, the joy of the LORD will forever be your strength. Let me assure you tomorrow will be all right.
Glory Be To God

Never lose hope, always. 🙂

Patron Saint of the Hopeless Cases

8 / 28 / 13

St. Jude Archdiocesian Shrine, Mendiola Manila

Back in my college years during Thursday afternoons , my friends and I would devote our time and pray the novena to the patron saint of the hopeless cases, St. Jude at St. Jude Thaddeus Church at Mendiola, Manila in the heart of the university belt.

He never failed me with all of my prayer requests back then especially when I pray over for guidance during our examinations then. I only get the chance to visit the place once every year during our yearly tradition of Visita Iglesia only when I moved place with DH.

P1010779 I bought some st jude medals  when I last went there and have it blessed during the mass. It looks something like this that is also being offered at Joy Jewelers

R5034W-15

St. Jude Thaddeus medal is made of polished 14kt white gold. size is smaller than a dime.

Hope and Prayer

1 / 20 / 13

I was asked to go straight to our accountant’s office first thing in the morning last Friday before heading straight to the office to submit some documents. Their office building is just right in front of the Sta. Cruz church.

So I did grab the chance to pass by and lighted  candles before heading to the office.

hope and prayer

It has been ten long years since I pass by the church. I remember I was really so down and low when I last went there. It felt good and light after praying to say thank you and asked for HIS guidance.

Two lighted candle for HOPE and GRATITUDE.

Hope. For my myself, family, relatives, work, friends. For good health and finances. For protection and keeping us always safe and away from harm.

Gratitude. For all the blessings that God has bestowed upon me, my family, relatives, work (online and offline) and friends. For always saving me especially those times I feel being alone and lonely and constantly reminding me that HE is always right beside me come what may.

“The POWER OF PRAYER” …. Believe!

New School Chapel

9 / 21 / 12

Dear daughter’s school were putting up a new chapel. I thought that it was just another school project that they are building up whenever I see the construction going on upon sending the little girl to school every morning. Until we received an invitation from the school administration to hear mass on the newly built chapel that are open to the public  every Sundays.

I saw the chapel this morning and they are still doing some clean up and other finishings in preparation for the fist mass to be held this coming Sunday. I also saw the nicely arranged chapel chairs that looks so comfy and of great style and design. The chapel is the new home for St. Therese (school patron) and St. Joseph (our neighborhood patron saint).

I guess we will be hearing mass more often in this chapel since it’s just a walking distance away from our place.

Sunday Mass

4 / 15 / 12

I have missed a few Sundays of mass already. I know that it’s not just really good to reason out why I missed going to the church. There’s just no really valid excuse unless for sickness I think.

The Church near us is under renovation and I heard that they will be putting up a centralized air-conditioning unit and some new and nice worship seating furniture. That would be nice. It will be more comfortable and convenient for church goers with the new facility features.

The Prayer

12 / 17 / 09

Heavenly Father, keep our families together in love, in peace and in joy.

Let our parents, be patient with us. Let our parents, be patient with each other , aware that the success and happiness of each member of the family depend on their loving concern for all of us.

Let no thought of separation or divorce be a part of solution to any problem.

Give them the grace Lord to pray together as the family that prays together stays together.

Amen.

This is the prayer that Gabby willbe leading in the opening of the program. I even memorized it too. LOL. Was amazed at how fast she was able to memorized it. She was able to deliver it in no less than 30 mins. Kids really have keen memory. Noticed that the prayer is centered on the family, in line with the theme of NATIVITY.

December 8: Feast Day of the Immaculate Conception

12 / 8 / 09

Prayer to the Immaculate Conception 1

O Virgin Immaculate, Mother of God and my Mother, from thy sublime height turn upon thine eyes of pity. Filled with confidence in thy goodness and knowing full well thy power, I beseech Thee to extend to me thine assistance in the journey of life, which is so full of dangers for my soul. And in order that I may never be the slave of the devil through sin, but may ever live with my heart humble and pure, I entrust myself wholly to thee. I consecrate my heart to thee forever, my only desire being to love thy Divine Son, Jesus. Mary, none of thy devout servants has ever perished; may I too be saved. Amen.

Prayer to the Immaculate Conception 2

O God, Who by the Immaculate Conception of the Virgin didst make ready a fitting habitation for Thy Son, we beseech Thee that Thou Who didst keep her clean from all stain by the precious death of the same Thy Son, foreseen by Thee, mayest grant unto us in like manner to be made clean through her intercession and so attain unto Thee. Through the same Christ our Lord. Amen.
