Shaping Up The Natural Way

8 / 25 / 228 / 26 / 22

Since the pandemic struck us way back 2 years ago, I wasn’t able to go out and had myself check for they yearly general health check up. Since we were all stuck in our houses to either work from home or have online classes for the students, my eating habit has also changed.

I had a double job a year ago and didn’t entirely noticed my body weight in which I gained a lot. It blew up to 70+ kls. I rarely stand up my working chair, been online for most of the day to juggle in between 2 jobs. Sometimes, I eat in front of the PC as I am lazy to go at the dining table.

I consumed 3-5 cups of coffee in a day. Food delivery via app has been our go to since we cannot go out to groceries and market (only once or twice a month at the most) due to restrictions. it all boils down for me to discover that I have type 2 Diabetes. I also was diagnosed prior with PCOS. So losing weight was quite really a challenge. So I have to do a lot of research on how to properly lose weight as I don’t want to resort to those fly by night easy weight loss pills, coffee, medicines that are available in the market. How do we make sure they are legit, have it checked with the food and regulatory board in their list of approved products, that means it went to their laboratory tests to confirm that they are safe.

Another factor that is quite challenging to me is finding the right dress to wear! Since I gained a few more pounds the past 2 years, all of my clothes no longer fit me properly. I don’t wear those fancy dresses at all. I’m just the regular shirt and jeans type of person but those bulgy fats are still showing even if I wear loose shirts.

Wholesale Rubber Waist Trainer Control Tummy Shape Waist

One of the trending in TikTok that caught my attention are those full body shaper that are being promoted by some influencers and has been backed up many good reviews about the use and how it improves your body posture with consistent wearing of rubber shaping products can get a slim waist, a flat stomach and a perfect hourglass figure. I like that the materials are safe and fit friendly, this gives your more comfort to move around along with providing you the shape and tucking in those bulges and gives you more confidence even if wearing tight fitting clothes.

I believe it is also a good idea of you’re into venturing a business. Perfect product to choose since it’s very in demand nowadays. You only need to find a a good wholesale shapewear supplier so you can deliver to the demands of your potential customers especially ladies as your target market!

Wholesale Seamless Plus Size Full Body Shaper

You need to choose the waist trainer manufacturers that really can cater to your needs and is legit enough to be a long term partner in giving you new online business a boost.

How to Get Back in Shape

6 / 11 / 226 / 13 / 22

The past 2 years made most of us stay and confined in the four corners of our home, that being restricted to go out unless for essential trips outside our home. The pandemic struck and each and every one of us. It is not easy specially for most outgoing and sociable people.

I can say that it affected different aspects of our life. Social, mental health and emotionally, I myself almost had panic attacks and anxiety brought about losing a job and losing family members and friends. The uncertainty have left us fearful on what’s gonna happen next. Physically and our health has also been hit! We have to ensure taking lots of vitamins and avoid getting close contact with other to avoid catching the virus.

Many of us have no choice but to work from home. This means staying a lot o time in front of our PC with little time to move around. Food intake has also been affected, since most cannot do marketing to buy fresh produce and fruits, we relied on online purchases and food deliveries! most are tempted to order fast foods, sweets and coffee!

For women, we always knew how hard it is to get back in shape with a little time and small space to do home exercise. Moms out there who gave birth who needs to remove excess flabs!

Discipline is the key. Of course, for us women, a little help to achieve our goals through wearing Shapewear! I was looking around for best shapewear for tummy and waist like below which seems to be promising.

Sculptshe Body Sculpt Backless Shapewear

Since I still work from home, I always aim to wear comfy clothes. Shapewear above is  lightweight and breathable. Perfect in this humid and hot summer weather we still have.

I also wanted to utilise the workout bike that we bought last year. Since we are unable to go to the gym due to restrictions, we can do stationary biking at home. Would love to wear a wear trainer vest like the one below.

Sculptshe Latex Double Belts Waist Vest Shaper

It says that when you wear one, the compression stimulates thermal activity in your core which increases perspiration, allowing toxins to escape. Perfect wear during your workout at home.

The above shapewear clothing looks cool and is also a good support for the body while doing the exercise.

Time to get back shape!

SANOFI JOINS THE WORLD IN CELEBRATING WORLD HEART DAY BY ADDRESSING THE CHALLENGES OF THE TIMES

10 / 4 / 2110 / 8 / 21

September 29 is World Heart Day all around the globe.

More than just a celebration, World Heart Day was established in the hopes that it could reach more people and be able to spread awareness about the perils of heart diseases and stroke.

Sanofi recognizes that this is a unique time to be worried about heart health and learn more about the steps that should be taken to ensure risk-free living, especially under a cloud of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Hypertension Diary Path Risk Management.

“It’s heartbreaking to see those with comorbidities battle a critical to severe form of the virus- forcing them to put their lives on hold, be isolated from family, friends and people who matters most to them,” Amal Makhloufi Benchouk, the Philippines Country Lead for Sanofi, shared in her opening remarks.

Statistics have shown that 7 out of 10 people are diagnosed with hypertension, and 2 out of 10 hypertension patients die. Sanofi continues to respond to the challenge of dealing with comorbidities during this time, by emphasizing the need to address the lack of awareness and limited access to cardiovascular disease management.

“Cardiovascular Disease remains the number 1 killer in the world, resulting in about 18.6 Million deaths worldwide and over 520 million people globally living with cardiovascular disease that has been disproportionately affected by the pandemic,” she remarked.

Sanofi’s mission has led them to create the Empower Hypertension Program, which aims to deliver awareness, prevention, and management to patients. The program provides enlisted patients with free coaching sessions led by nurse educators to arm them with information that tackles myths and facts about the disease, among others.

Sanofi has also partnered with Omron, a leading medical electronics company, to extend a 20% to 25% discount to patients, encouraging them to procure the technology in order to monitor their blood pressure regularly.

Sanofi remains committed to its mission to promote hypertension management at the early stages and to inspire individuals to take control of their own health.

Learning how to Care for our Hearts on World Hypertension Day

5 / 25 / 21

Ever since Ian suffered heart failure a few years back. We have always been cautious about his health condition especially that he is also diabetic. We are always looking for further information aside from doctor’s advice so we are sure that we can take care and monitor hi health condition always.

Over 12 million Filipinos are suffering from hypertension. As the country’s leading cause of death, along with other cardiovascular diseases, hypertension remains to be a top problem among Filipinos. Over 70% of cases are uncontrolled, and 38.6% of patient populations in hospitals are attributed to hypertension. On World Hypertension Day, Sanofi together with TheAsianParent organized a FamHealthy episode via Facebook live to raise awareness about managing this lifestyle disease especially in this time of a pandemic.

With over 230 live viewers, mom vlogger Ara Casas-Tumuran moderated the session with cardiologist  Dr. Eduardo Tin Hay, and Sanofi Philippines Country lead Dr. Amal Makhloufi.

Among the topics covered is how to properly measure one’s blood pressure, which is a necessity to manage hypertension. Dr. Tin Hay shared a few tips that should be adapted for proper blood pressure measurement including not drinking caffeine and not smoking 30 minutes prior to the measurement. He also stressed the importance of getting an accurate reading, preferably as an average of two separate measurements, before getting diagnosed with hypertension.

Dr. Tin Hay also answered questions from the audience about the risks of getting vaccinated for COVID-19 when one is hypertensive. He explained the importance of referring to one’s primary care physician because cases may vary from person to person. “Having hypertension is not a contraindication for getting vaccinated. If you have hypertension, but are taking maintenance medicine, you can get vaccinated, as long as you check up with your doctor first,” said Dr. Tin Hay.

Several moms asked about risk factors, and how to properly manage hypertension. Dr. Tin Hay mentioned that the heat, especially during the summer months can greatly affect one’s blood pressure. He emphasized the need to limit the intake of salty foods and alcohol, and to exercise regularly. “Limiting your salt intake and exercising regularly can lower your blood pressure. It’s not perfect, but it could help. These small things, if you add them together, can greatly help in managing hypertension.”

Dr. Makhloufi, Country Lead for Sanofi Philippines, opened the discussion with a brief overview on hypertension, highlighting that in the Philippines, over 12 million Filipinos people are suffering from the disease. “As a global healthcare company, we are not only promoting the consistent adherence to hypertension medicines. We are also encouraging that patients and their family members adopt a more holistic approach to disease management,” shares Dr. Makhloufi.

She also shared the programs that Sanofi has in place for hypertensive patients, like the EMPOWER Patient Support Program, where patients are provided with personalized coaching sessions by nurse educators. Additional coaching modules are also available through the BioMark app that can be downloaded by patients in Playstore or Applestore for free.

Moms from the audience were eager to ask questions about common misconceptions about hypertension and were grateful to have their questions answered by Dr. Amal Makhloufi and Dr. Tin Hay.

Ito ang Dugong Pinoy! 3 Mommies Share How They Keep Their Blood Healthy to Strengthen Their Immunity

4 / 19 / 21

2020 has presented numerous challenges to Filipinos, more so, to women. The stress and pressure of pushing forward has left a lot of Filipinas with more on their plates than they could handle. Despite this, women have continued to be the main care providers of their homes, their children, all on top of maintaining a full-time career.

This leaves us wondering, how do Filipinas keep their bodies healthy for their families? We asked three Filipinas how they were able to push through with their daily responsibilities on top of taking good care of their loved ones, and still serve as a greater inspiration for many women.

Besides the usual chores and daily tasks, Mommy Jenica shares that she has been busy with her home-based business making cakes and baked goods. With a business that requires her to exert time and attention to detail being loaded with multiple orders, this leaves her exhausted. “’Yung pagod ka na pero mas napagod ka sa ligpitin. But thankfully I have my husband… to help me.” And yet she continues to struggle keeping her health in check since she took on more responsibilities in their household.

Mommy Anne on the other hand, found herself decluttering as her biggest and most fulfilling challenge on top of taking care of her family. She juggles her night shift full-time job and being a full-time mom during the day. “Sleep was something that was so scarce. Still is. And I’m definitely feeling the adverse impact to my health.”

While for Mommy Ria, due to the educational system shifting to homeschooling, she had to take initiative as her child’s teacher. “Preparing lessons and activities took my time and energy on top of the usual household chores and part time work.”
Like many Filipinas, they have a lot of tasks to do on the daily, which leads them to skip meals and overwork. According to Mommy Anne, the past year has led her to closely monitor her health, which many moms can relate to. With their careers and household responsibilities happening all at the same time, it’s easy to lose track of their immunity. How do they maintain their blood healthy? With the help of Multivitamins + Minerals (Sangobion IRON+).

Sangobion

By eating nutritious meals, practicing regular exercise, getting proper sleep, and taking Multivitamins + Minerals (Sangobion IRON+) to help maintain their blood health and keep their immunity at its peak. Through these routines they’re able to keep up with their tight schedules and provide the care that their families need.

Multivitamins + Minerals (Sangobion IRON+) is an iron supplement with vitamins and minerals that helps to replenish iron stores and increases red blood cell levels in the body. It has ferrous gluconate, a type of iron salt which allows better absorption of iron in the body, Folic acid, and vitamin B12 which are vital for production of red blood cells and during pregnancy. It also contains Vitamin C which helps improve iron absorption, and Copper sulphate and manganese sulphate that helps in the metabolic processes of blood cell production.1

Recommended intake is one to two capsules daily, during or after meals, or as prescribed by your doctor.

As a blood health ally of many Filipinas, Multivitamins + Minerals (Sangobion IRON+) helps to treat iron deficiency anemia that can lead to decreased immunity and increased susceptibility to infection. Iron deficiency anemia happens when the blood has a lower amount of red blood cells or hemoglobin than normal. This can cause the body to feel weak, tired, dizzy, look pale, and experience headaches. 2

As 2020 nears its end, Filipinos are hopeful for the positive changes that the new year holds especially to their family’s health. Multivitamins + Minerals (Sangobion IRON+) supports empowered women to maintain their blood health in check and keep their immunity at its peak so they can continue to provide the care that their family needs, while being able to accomplish their daily tasks.

If symptoms persist, consult your doctor.

A deep dive on Thrombosis: When does it become a cause for concern?

10 / 19 / 20

If the pandemic has taught us one thing, it is that we should never take our health for granted. From chronic diseases to other potential underlying health conditions, taking care of ourselves in a holistic manner goes a long way to maintaining our overall health and wellbeing.

To raise awareness on health and medical concerns that may arise amid the quarantine, Sanofi Philippines partnered with The Asian Parent to launch FamHealthy, a webinar series that aims to educate Filipino families when it comes to health matters.

In observance of World Thrombosis Day, FamHealthy hosted a special episode featuring the Philippine Society of Vascular Medicine to tackle blood clots or thromboses, a health condition that may go undetected and one that can lead to complications or as a symptom of another disease or ailment.

Link: https://www.facebook.com/watch/?v=1249597578724191

What is Thrombosis?

According to Famhealthy host, Dr. Geraldine Zamora, Thrombosis is often characterized by the formation of clots inside one’s blood vessels. It may go undetected and lead to complications that can contribute to life-threatening medical conditions such as a heart attack or stroke.

Moreover, blood clots have also been observed among COVID-19 patients, and causing severe complications for persons with chronic diseases such as hypertension and diabetes.

FamHealthy guest speaker, Dr. Paolo Nocom of the Philippine Heart Center and a fellow of the Philippine Society of Vascular Medicine, touched on the occurrence of deep vein thrombosis, which is commonly observed as swelling or dark discolorations in the thighs and lower legs. He warns that if left untreated, the clotting may spread to the lungs in what is known as pulmonary embolism.

“Developing both deep vein thrombosis and pulmonary embolism is a sign of a severe form of blood clotting known as venous thromboembolism (or VTE),” Nocom adds.

What are the signs and symptoms?

Thrombosis or blood clotting may affect different parts of the body, however it is advised that you seek medical attention if you have the following symptoms:

  • Redness or swelling in the foot, ankle, or leg.
  • Pain or tenderness around the calf area.
  • Shortness of breath or rapid breathing.
  • Chest pains or Rapid heart rate.
  • Light-headedness.
  • Coughing up blood.

How do we prevent or manage it?

  • Get moving. Life under quarantine may be conducive to a sedentary lifestyle but this inactivity may lead to blood clots forming. That’s why you should always get moving or simply avoid sitting down for long periods of time.
  • Stay hydrated. Dehydration may cause your blood to thicken and form clots. To help prevent this, always keep yourself hydrated.
  • Consider investing in compression stockings. As Dr. Nocom explains, compression stockings help to improve circulation and prevent blood clots from forming. Ensure that you have the appropriate size for your leg.

9 Reasons Why You Should Try CBD

8 / 24 / 20

The CBD oil has recently in the past few years become popular among most people since people’s attitude towards the cannabidiol has changed. Proponents and people who use CBD products argue that the outcome of Cannabis is useful for medicinal purposes. Below are some of the reasons you should try CBD oil today.

1) CBD oil cannot get you high upon using it. Even though marijuana is the primary raw material in the extraction of CBD oils; the allegations that CBD products have high contents of Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) is ill-informed. The claims are not valid since CBD products have a small content of 0.3% of THC, which can’t make you get high. In case you still doubt that the 0.3% THC wouldn’t get you high, try out CBD isolate, and broad-spectrum products since they undergo processing to remove THC from the two types of CBD oil. Save 5% on CBD oils by Sol CBD, an industry leading CBD company, using this Sol CBD coupon!

2) CBD works naturally with endocannabinoid receptors to improve your health. The CBD is proven to reduce pain and anxiety on the body of the user. The CBD mimics receptors produced by the human body known as neurotransmitters, which regulate the body’s physiological processes. Pain and inflammations caused by arthritis, physical injury, fibromyalgia, or migraine can be relieved by CBD. Therefore, CBD products boost your health naturally.

3) CBD products are safe for usage, as they have no addictive tendencies. The CBD oils have received recognition from the World Health Organization (WHO) to have no mild side effects; thus, they are non- addictive and safe for consumer’s use. Unlike some of the drugs in the market that have mild effects on an overdose intake, CBD has no maximum dose; thus, no signs of any mild effects.

4) The usage of CBD products is easy, even for new users. The application of CBD products is not as hard as some people may think. It’s easy to use as you are only required to follow the instructions as indicated by the manufacturers of the products. The consumption of CBD products can either be through vaporing or edibles, thus suiting consumers’ priorities. CBD is, therefore, fast-acting and portable hence ideal for any user.

5) CBD products are antioxidants; hence they can slow or stop the spread of some diseases. According to researches done by scientists, CBD products have proven to reduce or prevent the growth of cancer and tumor. So far, all the treatments available for tumors have mild side effects on the user, but CBD products treat with no slight impact. CBD products are also proven to protect the body from heart-related diseases, low blood pressure, and Alzheimer’s diseases.

6) CBD products are useful in treating depression among patients since they are excellent and efficient in improving the mood. Researchers have concluded that CBD activates 5-HT1A, serotonin receptor, which is responsible for increasing the feeling. Although further researches by doctors need to carry out to indicate how CBD products improve mood extensively, they are used by most people for brightening a gloomy day.

7) CBD products can treat obsessive-compulsive disorder, social anxiety disorder, and post-traumatic stress. The treatment is possible because they have unwinding properties caused by the relaxing and calming nature of CBD products. Therefore, if you are looking for stress relievers, go for the CBD products.

8) CBD is known to induce sleep. If you are having struggles trying to fall asleep, CBD products are the remedy for your problems. People who stay awake for a long hour due to lack of sleep or those who keep on waking up at night can take CBD because it increases the REM sleep duration. Some of the signs of sleeping deficiency include tossing and turning across the bed at night, which may sometimes be accompanied by nightmares.

9) Lastly, there are no prescriptions required by an approved medical practitioner. Although it’s a right decision to consult a professional doctor, especially if you are taking other medicines, you do not require consent from a doctor to buy the CBD. It’s legal to purchase CBD products in the United States. The CBD products are legally sold on both online platforms and in physical shops.

Now that you are aware of the benefits of buying CBD products, you can visit any shop outlet there and purchase one for yourself and your family. However, you need to purchase quality products since many products out there in the market are of poor quality. Manufacturing and extraction of CBD products are through different procedures, thus the various quality available.

Quality CBD products are the ones derived from hemp, which are organically grown, and which have passed through all the required lab tests. The best extraction method is the Carbon (IV) oxide extraction method, and you should, therefore, avoid CBD products manufactured using solvents. An excellent example of the best CBD product vendors in the market is CBD American Shaman, which sell CBD products in the form of capsules, gummies, vape liquid, and tinctures.

Keeping your Child Skin infection-free

10 / 17 / 18

Kids are very energetic, clumsy and can’t stay still in only one place, they move around a lot and get a bump or either scratches from things around them. Keeping them in the pink of health and strengthening their immune system is our main goal so they can always bounce back fast from getting sick….

Another school year has started, and parents are more than ever concerned about their child’s welfare, especially their health. Since they won’t be around to look after them all the time, they are naturally wary.

Their kids interact with other kids and do activities that will most likely get their hands dirty and make them prone to certain skin infections. With their fragile skin at their young age, parents will necessarily do everything to protect their children from contracting skin infections.

Dr. Maria Lourdes Palmero, FPDS, explained that there are three forms of skin infections that parents should watch out for in their kids: bacterial, fungal and viral. She said the infections are based on etiology or the kind of organisms that cause it.

Bacterial infection is the most common, she said, caused mainly by Staphylococcus aureus, with minor skin infections such as impetigo or “mamaso” that usually has noticeable golden-yellow crusting that multiplies over time. There can also be folliculitis or small deposits of pus, usually in the hair follicles; then there’s furunculosis or “pigsa” in the vernacular, plus carbunculosis.

For fungal infections, there’s ringworm that is common to children; on the feet, it is called “alipunga” or tinea pedis; on the hands, tinea manum; on the face, tinea faciale; and on the groin, tinea cruris or “hadhad.” In terms of viral infections, it’s the common warts or verruca vulgaris, known in the vernacular as “kulugo” that may be seen more often in children.

Dr. Palmero explained the most common mode of transmission is through contact with an infected person but of course there are other factors. “Food is not a factor, but the environment, specifically the heat or moisture, may be associated to development of fungal infections. A child’s immune status can also be a factor; or if a child has skin barrier issues, like eczema or extremely dry skin, infection may be more easily acquired. These factors make the child prone to infections since organisms can easily enter the skin. Infectious agents may also come from other sources such as animal or pet fur, or even from soil.”

As interactions among kids happen mostly in school, Dr. Palmero said awareness and hygiene are key. “Kids in school who touch things everywhere should have a habit of frequent hand washing to lessen transmission of skin infection. Moisturization also helps to guarantee the skin’s barrier function so they don’t get infected easily.”

To know if their child has bacterial skin infection, parents can look for blisters with golden-yellow crusting that’s slightly moist. If there are small deposits of pus in the skin, that may be folliculitis; or if with nodules, child may have boils. For fungal skin infection, there’s usually a round patch with central clearing (ringworm). For viral warts, there’s usually rough lesions  on the hands or feet.

“These are the common presentations to watch out for; but if there’s increasing severity, parents may notice symptoms like loss of appetite, fever, or body malaise, where the child feels tired or weak. This means the infection is progressing. Fever is the most important sign of worsening infection” Dr. Palmero continues.

She emphasized that parents should have basic ideas on the form of treatment for skin infections. For superficial bacterial skin infections), best options are topical medications that contain mupirocin. But if the infection comes with fever or if it prolongs, Dr. Palmero said it’s best to see a doctor. “Depending on the severity, seek doctor’s advice for systemic treatment, which can be oral or through IV (intravenous) that is administered directly through the bloodstream.”

Fungal infections merit a different medication, mostly the antifungals, such as clotrimazoles or the allylamines. For viral warts, salicylic acid may be used. Again, the treatment depends on the severity of the infection.

Dr. Palmero stresses one piece of advice for parents, though. Aside from teaching their kids proper hygiene, she said there are pediatric dermatologists in the Philippines that they can consult and rely on for advice to keep their kids infection-free. She said for the most effective and safe medical, surgical and cosmetic treatments for the skin, hair and nails, it is better to consult a dermatologist, preferably a member of the Philippine Dermatological Society (PDS), the country’s dermatology authority.

“The problem is many parents resort to self-diagnosis and self-medication. They give drugs that’s most of the time not really warranted. What’s scary is that what they’re doing may worsen the situation and prolong the child’s suffering from infection,” Dra. Palmero stated.

Regaining Your Stability: 3 Steps to Take when You Are Injured

7 / 11 / 18

It can be stressful and frightening to be injured, but it’s important to try and keep calm. The first steps you take after a personal injury can affect your reimbursement from the insurance company if you decide to file a claim. Here are a few things to keep in mind after you’ve been injured.

Seek Medical Attention Immediately

Whenever you are injured, you should see a doctor immediately. Even if you feel fine or don’t think you the injury requires medical attention, there are some symptoms that may not present themselves until days after the accident. These symptoms include pain, discomfort, dizziness, and numbness.

Getting medical attention right away can help strengthen your personal injury claim. If you wait days or weeks to seek professional medical help, it might be harder to prove that your injuries were a direct result of the accident. Additionally, elevated levels of stress and adrenaline can hide pain and other symptoms of an injury.

Seeking medical attention later rather than sooner can reduce your chances of making a full recovery. Waiting to see a doctor may also make it look like weren’t seriously injured to the insurance company. Many injuries don’t present themselves immediately, but by this time it may be too late to seek medical help. Additionally, some states have a time limit in which you must see a doctor to be eligible to file a personal injury claim. For a consultation to find out more about those time limits, reach out to SteffensInjuryLaw.com.

Keep Notes and Take Photos

Taking detailed notes of your injuries and medical treatment can help you get reimbursed by the insurance company. Keep notes of doctors, chiropractors, physical therapists, and any other medical professionals you see after your injury.

It’s also important to keep records. You can use a journal or diary to keep track of your injuries and medical treatment. Be specific, include details such as the degree of pain you suffer from and any inconveniences that result from the injury.

File every form of correspondence you have with doctors during your treatment. This may include emails and notes you take during and after phone calls and doctors appointments. You should also save all your medical bills and receipts. This can include prescriptions, special equipment, special foods, and copayments. Additionally, you might want to keep track of your travel expenses from medical appointments.

Recording specific information about your injury and accident can help strengthen your personal injury claim. Include any valuable information about the accident, and photos of the accident location. You should also take pictures of your cars damage. Don’t be afraid to take several photos of close-ups and long shots.

It will also be helpful to have proof of any financial losses including lost wages and opportunities. Furthermore, keep record of the names and contact information of witnesses.

Take Photos of Your Injuries

Ask a friend or family member to take pictures of your injuries. These photos will be valuable if you are having trouble getting a settlement from the insurance company or decide to hire a personal injury attorney. Photo evidence is also hard to dispute. Photos represent what happened, especially when they are time and date stamped.

Personal injuries can be frustrating, but there are things you can do to make your situation easier. You should always seek medical attention right away if you are injured or believe to be injured. This can help you get reimbursed by your insurance company. Also, keep track of your medical treatment and other important records. Photos of the accident and your injuries can also be helpful in obtaining settlement from the insurance company.

TIPS FOR THE YOGA BEGINNER

6 / 26 / 18

For many of us, doing yoga is at the top of a to-do list, but for some reason, we never follow through on our good intentions. Despite yoga being one of the best ways to stay fit, look good, and feel great, starting and maintaining a consistent yoga practice is tough.

It’s not hard to figure that what stops most of us from going beyond finding where to buy the best yoga pants is that finding a class/DVD that suits our individual physical, mental, and emotional needs take a lot of work.

Luckily, we have some tips to help you get started.

  • Class or DVD

The first option for learning yoga should always be a face-to-face class, but if there are no available classes or gyms in your residential area, DVDs are the next best thing. Keep your eyes open for DVDs that includes both a shorter morning workout and a more thorough yoga routine centered around accessible beginner yoga poses. If you run a tight schedule, then your priorities should be DVDs that show some calm workouts designed to fit perfectly into the rhythms of your hectic day, without wearing you out altogether.

  • Space

If you choose to do your yoga at home, you must find a comfortable spot where stretching on a mat doesn’t mean you will be bumping into cars, tables, fans, beds, etc. You also need a space where nobody can form a distraction with their comments and observations.

  • Early Riser

According to experts, yoga is best practiced during sunrise when the mind is free of thoughts and the world is still at peace. This ideology means you would get more from yoga if you practiced between the hours of 4 am and 6 am. However, if you cannot wake up that early, don’t skip! Instead, practice immediately you wake up.

  • Empty Stomach

Experts also claim that practicing on an empty stomach or at least 2-3 hours after your last meal, is ideal. According to them, when practicing yoga, you are much more in tune with your body’s understated feelings than at any other point, and practicing with food in your stomach unavoidably leads to uneasiness. Eating before practicing can also cause feelings of heaviness, and can interrupt the digestion process.

  • Yoga Routine

You need to determine what your mind and body need – something upbeat, peaceful or maybe restorative. The more yoga you do, the more you realize that different practices have various effects and moods. Eventually, you will discover what your body and mind need no matter the time of day.

  • Talk to Your Doctor and Yoga Instructor

While yoga poses are easy for almost anybody to learn, some people take it a step further and end up with an injury. So before you commence on the journey, let your doctor know and keep yourself updated with your physical limitations. If you have a health condition and are a part of a class, explain to your yoga instructor, so s/he knows not to push you too far.

  • Take Your Time

You need to take your time and do only as much as you can easily can within a period. You can use your breathing pattern to monitor your exhaustion level – when it is light and long, that’s a sign your muscles are beginning to relax, but your breath is uneven, it means you need to take a break.

  • Focus

You need to take your eyes off how cute the yoga pants look and focus on actually practicing and sticking with yoga. You can stretch wearing your pajamas, and no one would care. Mostly, you must avoid wearing excessive jewelry, as it can get in the way of yoga practice.

  • Savor Every Moment of It

Don’t be in a hurry to get up and start getting the tasks of the day done. Instead, take a few moments to enjoy the moment and allow your body a moment of rest after a long, tiring practice. Savoring the moment will help cool down the body and completely relax the mind and body after a session.

  • Practice

As is typical of a lot of things, continuous practice will lead to more sustainable and enjoyable benefits. Not only will regular exercise get you closer to your aim of touching your toes or doing a headstand or staying in the downward-facing dog position but regular practice will also train your body.

Continuous practice will lead you to have a peaceful state of mind that spreads to life outside of yoga.
