Finally, our light fixtures installed in our front gate gave up. It has served its purpose well for more than five years. Now it’s time to find a new replacement and we’re thinking of going for a vintage lighting this time to match our new house motif where we have a few antique collections.

We wanted a mix of old and modern house style, some designs of  furniture and fixture would be vintage while having the state of the art appliances. I just really hope we could save enough budget for those. It is every family’s dream, living in a house that is built out of their own ideas and hard work.

Last year, we were able to finish some of our house projects. The mini kitchen in terrace, bedroom makeover, purchase of home appliance, house painting, etc. We are now slowing down this time as we need to allot our budget to some other things. House projects would be put on hold for the meantime. But I just couldn’t resist the urge to  buy a new furniture for the house when I saw some pine beds while I was on my way home. I think this will give a new and country theme for our bedroom. But that  I need to consult the husband first. lol!

Decorating and designing ones house is an enjoyable activity to deal with. The sense of fulfillment is incomparable once you are done with it, most especially if you are building your own dream house. Every family of course aims to have one, a place built out of work and hardships and is built through the foundation love and is filled with a happy family that lives in it.

Proper research and being creative goes a long way when it comes to budgeting for the materials and furniture for the house, instead of putting up a plain looking tile for your wall, you can install a glass mosaic tile and then you got an artistic design for the wall as well. Hitting two birds in one stone that is! creativity goes a long way.

We were able to accomplish a lot in doing some makeover for the house last year. A few projects were left to be done for this year. Our bathroom was in progress now and the kids bedroom will come next but still, there are some unexpected turn out of events that needs to be dealt with asap. Our queen sized bed got broken  and was temporarily fixed, it still need some major repair as there are squeaky thing that you can hear whenever we move- while lying or sitting down. I am thinking if we could buy another one, but it is out of the budget right now.  So I just need to look around first and see if there’s any that will fit the budget.

I am thinking if we could have futons for a while, I saw similar  one at American Furniture Mart’s ( a leading factory direct showroom of open to the public for the best in top quality furniture at discount prices)  a Flare Microfiber Futon Bed, I think it will be perfect too for our mini sala as the ones we have there are already old school in design.lol

I love the color combination of red and black, this will definitely suit our newly painted wall and space saving too as it can be converted to bed whenever the need arise for some unexpected sleep over at the house.

We’re now done with putting up a mini kitchen sink in our terrace and transferred  all of the  cookware and  cooking stove from our dirty kitchen downstairs, it was DH’s idea of course as he was in charge of cooking  and would often complain of getting tired going up and down as we also did put up our dining table upstairs.  Done wih some repainting and minor renovations here and there.  

 

 

We were able to great deals on some house stuffs to like dining table, ac, sojo blinds, etc.. and I really thank God for all these blessings that he have bestowed on us.

 

I wasn’t able to take my afternoon yap yesterday because I was busy tinkering my blog theme. Having limited knowledge on css and html took me long hours before I as able to finish it. lol. Aside from browsing some of my uploaded album on FB, hehe I was reminded that we need to buy a landscape lighting for our garden upon seeing our vacation photos two months ago with this nice  solar powered path lighting installed at the beach resort. We  asked the owner on where did they buy it and said that they got it at HMR in Pioneer, good thing that the place of store is near our place and will be in sale alert sometime this Christmas season.

Our plan of pushing through with our bathroom makeover have been put aside for awhile as we need to deal with the kids school tuition fee this time. I am still waiting for some funds  coming from my online earnings to cover those expenses and so that I can also buy the wifi phone that I have been long waiting to purchase. Dh told me that he’ll be the one to take charge for the bathroom makeover funds. Oh well let’s see! We already bought a nice sink, a new toilet similar to the Saniflo toilet that uses a unique macerating system. Having a nice toilet keeps up a well comfortable bathroom.

Our kids are growing fast and still  sleeping with us in our queen size bed which is no longer convenient for the four of us:D. We are now starting to fix up the kids room as they have to transfer and sleep in their very own bedroom. We have started on changing the floor tiles and soon we will be buying new accessories and furniture for it. I am now in search of a wood bunk bed for kids as they will be both sharing the room and it will keep the area spacious enough. I saw a lot of nice and quality made bunk beds for sale at Mom’s Bunk House, all we need now is to pick one that will suit our kids room. With the wide variety of styles and designs I am having a hard time on what to pick. lol!
