Medical Alert System During Emergency Situations

9 / 11 / 12

images

Love Your Parents . We are so busy growing up,we often forget they are also growing old- Unknown

It is disheartening to know that a loved one, especially your parents came to a point wherein their body can’t bear to walk around anymore. More so, can no longer recognize people around them.

I got call from my sister  two weeks ago, she told me that my father woke up around the middle of the night and went out of the house. Good thing that a kind neighbor alerted them and told that they saw my father walking barefoot along the streets within their area.

They were able to see him and brought him back at the house, when asked why did he went out of the house in  the middle of the night he said “ Somebody’s chasing me, so I ran out” We were all saddened to hear him out telling unusual stories and gestures.

It all dawned on us that he might be experiencing dementia, or worst an Alzheimer’s disease. We are yet to have him checked by a specialist and we all hope for a better outcome.

For now, the best way that we can do is to get Personal alarms for the elderly to monitor him on his daily activity. My mother has to take care of their small business and it is my niece and sister who is left in the house to look after my dad.

We are looking for other means on how we can better take care of him. I think, investing in one of those Medical alert systems like the ones being offered by Lifenet is helpful and beneficial enough to help us in aid in taking care of my father.

The said system comes with a large button that when pressed anytime, will alert LifeNet EMTs that an assistance is needed. The said device can be worn as pendant, bracelet or wristwatch and is waterproof. It is designed for easy function and reliability that one can use for emergency situations.

Helpful system and device like this is a must for our elderly loved ones who needs extra care from us. It is our duty to look after them especially in trying times like when they needed us most.

Hellooo September!

9 / 7 / 1210 / 5 / 23

Oh, that was a week late greetings for this post! Many things had happened since day one of this month. Things were quite hard and we’re still coping from the hard times that we had from the past couple of months, health wise and money-wise that is!

But as always, I  look forward to the positive side. Fervently praying for guidance and support from our Big God up there! 🙂

Last August 31, was the culminating activity for our little girl for their “Buwan ng wika”

The little girl in her Filipiniana Costume- Casual Kimona Dress

She was suppose to wear the top here but it was quite still big for her. So we opted to have the dress (patadyong) altered and bought a new top Kimona. Yey! for we only get to spend fifty five pesos for the kimona and forty five pesos for her abaca slippers. We bought them at the mini-divisoria-like area  beside the Marketplace mall in Mandaluyong.

The little boy on the other hand, had their first quarterly exams last week of August. Last night, he told me that he has a surprise for me and proudly show me this!

One proud mama here! The short-time review sessions paid off. whew! Only 80% for the music subject, he told me he sang “Paa, tuhod..” for the tagalog song in their music test because he forgot the lines that he practiced for his supposed to be “ako ay may lobo” tagalog piece. lol!

Since “BER” months is here, we all look forward to a productive and fruitful months ahead in preparation for the upcoming holiday season! Bring it on September! 🙂

The Rain In My Life

7 / 22 / 1210 / 5 / 23

Weather is a great metaphor for life – sometimes it’s good, sometimes it’s bad, and there’s nothing much you can do about it but carry an umbrella.  ~Terri Guillemets

It’s been raining cats and dog since Friday night here in our part of the world. I did even brave the flood Friday night just get home and Saturday morning to accompany dear husband to the hospital for his daily dose of injection of antibiotics.

The past week has been full of emotion for the family. With DH getting sick and I being in charge of the household for everything makes me really feel so helpless and all.

I did take a leave from work for about three days from Monday to Wednesday to look after my family, with a sick husband and two kids who shouldn’t miss their classes. Preparing breakfast, tossing in between the dishes and laundry, cleaning our room and peeking online to catch up with some online assignments, I am glad I was able to pull it through!

Though I am now back to my usual daily schedule of going to work, I still have to balance my time to keep everything filled up. The little boy will be taking his service to school and I still have to send the little girl to school and see to it that everything is settled at home before I go to work.

DH has been feeling low about his health condition and so are we. Submitting himself for a medical treatment is the only way for him to get better and I am glad the he’s more than willing to do it this time. With all the pills, injections and daily visit to the hospital that we all have to bear. I am really hopeful that he gets better soon!

I am thankful to family and friends who extends their well wishes and care for Ian. For giving me the support and encouragement to hang on and be strong. For having our two beautiful kids as our inspiration to move on, staying strong to face the challenge.

Just like the weather, it maybe a gloomy and rainy season for us right now. But we are all looking forward to seeing the rainbow and Mr. Sun shining brightly towards us to enjoy our day!

The Week That Was

6 / 18 / 1210 / 5 / 23

The past week has taken its toll on me. Since school started last Wednesday, June 13. We had to adjust again our schedule, kids have to sleep early for their 7:30 am. class.

( My Senior Kinder and Grade 3 school kids)

I, on the other hand has to do the coverings of their books and notebooks which really took me long to finish because I still had to attend my regular day job. Sorting, organizing and labeling their school supplies for submission also seems like forever in getting them all done. I was the one who did send the little boy to school on the first day and I glad I did as I was able to meet his new teacher.

I am also glad that Ian, after being sick for almost quite sometime, is now all well and getting back in shape. Things are starting to fall into place. There’s still one more thing that I am fervently praying for to our dear Lord,  that is for us to be able to cope up financially. With the two kids back to school again, educational related expenses like tuition fees and daily allowance, bills to pay and our daily expenses while relying on my weekly based salary and online gig extra income, I hope that they could all fit in the budget.

I am praying for more online opportunities for me to work on and hope to get back and be more inspired to blog more.

Great Family Dinner

5 / 21 / 12

We were invited to a dinner by Ate I and Kuya C last Friday, it was their anniversary blow out to all of us. Good thing there was no traffic and I was able to go home around 6:30 pm. I still had time for a quick shower and change clothes.

We were ahead of time and in Picasso Boutique Serviced Residences, Makati where they  checked-in. We waited for them at the lobby and had some time to pose around with the art paintings around the area.

Our Blessing and God’s Gift

5 / 15 / 12

P1100597

Ian and I were really grateful for having our two treasures that came into our lives for the past eight years. We never thought that we will come this far and how our relationship became more stronger all through the years. Kids are growing up as beautiful as they are.

There’s no need for paternity test to be done, for we both know that both of them came to me and how they’ve acquire some of their parents characteristics. Dear son would always say that he looks like his daddy while many people would tell him that he looks like mommy 🙂 Gab, our daughter would often tell us different kinds of profession that she wants to pursue when she grows up, we might be having a lawyer-singing-chef in the future. Again, Thank you Lord for our bundle of joys!

A Much Needed Break

5 / 13 / 12

… happened for three days this week. We were able to go on a vacation with the whole family away from the busy city life. Hearing and seeing only the waves of the sea, a cool breeze of wind on an early morning walk along the bay.

Witnessing the sunrise and sunset by the beach, a savoring moment indeed…

P5091038

Kids enjoyed the sand and the beach, a priceless moment indeed!

Rarely we got the chance to go for quick getaway like this, that’s why we are so happy that we were able to spend quality time to bond together as a family. We are so thankful to Ate I for inviting us once again on a free vacation trip. So looking forward on our next summer getaway! 🙂
