Hinder the Hoarding

When it comes to organisation, unnecessary clutter is the enemy, and hoarding leads to it. As new toys come, old toys must go. Keep the items that your child plays with the most or that have great sentimental value to your child, but once your kid loses interest in an old item and doesn’t have a need for it anymore, it’s really only taking up precious space.

If your child gets too old for a toy and doesn’t use it much anymore but it still has sentimental value for your child, offer to keep it safe and stored away somewhere, so that your child can ask for it if he/she wants it, but it’s not taking up the practical space in the bedroom that’s used every day.

Shelving

Shelves are a great storage option for kids’ rooms because they keep everything off the floor and out of the way, but still easily accessible and not out of sight. From a shelf your child can see items clearly, access them easily and put them back without any trouble once he/she has finished with them.

If you have shelves that go higher than your kid can reach, use the higher space to store items that don’t get much use and keep the lower shelves for items that your child uses often.

Drawers and Boxes

Drawers and shelf boxes are another ideal organisation solution for your child’s room. These keep things out of the way and out of sight. It’s the simplest way to keep the room looking tody because your child can easily put things back into a drawer or box without having to assemble them neatly or remember what order they go in – just throw them in, close the drawer or slip the box back into the shelf and it’s as tidy as ever.

Labelling

Putting signs or labels on storage areas makes it really simple for your child to keep things organised. You can create some funky labels for drawers, shelves, chests, boxes, bins – whatever your child will use in the room. This means he/she knows where to go to get what’s needed, and knows exactly where to put them back. Using a colour coded system can help too, and adding pictures and symbols can help add some fun to tidying up after playtime.

Hidden Storage

For all the items that your child doesn’t need to access, hidden storage spots are great to keep clutter at bay while still storing incidentals and occasional items. Drawers inbuilt under the bed, hangers behind the door, and shelves above doorways are all handy little tricks to store items out of sight and out of mind.

Loft beds for kids are another clever way to maximise both space and storage, and kids love the novelty. Usually loft beds will incorporate a desk space and some shelves or drawers, all tucked away under the bed that sits over the top.

With these simple tips your kids’ room will be a tidy, safe and welcoming space, free of clutter and easy for your child to keep clean. It’s a win-win!

I am ready for an HP Deskjet Ink Advantage upgrade because I need to catch up with the latest on printing technology. Since I have two schooling kids, there are lots of school art projects and printing to do’s. Not to mention that I myself need it for work (regular 8 hour day job and online work). The convenience of having an all-in-one printer plus wifi is a great factor to contribute in being productive for school, work, crafts and personal activity that requires a printing, scan or copy jobs.

Easy peasy! Deep in my heart, I  knew I would win in this contest. Not really hoping to bag the grand prize, the consolation was more than enough for me as I pray. Haha!

So I did! My eyes grew big as I read my name in  the HP Great Printer Giveaway Results! not just in the consolation but as a Grand Prize Winner. Yey!!! I really love it! Will claim it on Monday and share the experience in my other blog for the function and features of HP Deskjet Ink Advantage 3525 e-All-in-One Printer.

I took me quite sometime to figure out on how to make things work around, I am actually preparing for Iolo computer repair first thing in the morning the next day because the system won’t run and I actually were not able to figure out on how to print the transmittal report. After a few hours of trouble shooting, the System Restore saved my day. Whew!

As for Mother’s Day celebration last Sunday, we just stay home (again). I did the my weekend routine, laundry, cleaning and catching up on sleep… But, we had a great Caldereta for our lunch!  Recipe taken from the black book (  special handwritten recipes from Ian’s late mom) The Caldereta should have beer as one of the ingredients but since there was liquor ban, it was slashed off from the list. Hahaha!

Wondering how it looked like? I really mean to take a snap of it but kids were too hungry that they couldn’t wait for any photo op to take place anymore. LOL!

Only this yummy Mango Cake from Red Ribbon as their Mother’s Day  gift to me.

The next day Monday, Ian and I went early around 7 am to the polling precint to cast our votes. We were done in less than 10 minutes!

For my senator bets, I wasn’t able to fill up the 12 slots. Out of the 9 candidates, only 7 of them made it to the senate. For locals, I voted for my same old bets.

I still got some catching up to do, save that for another post!

You see, traveling alone is time consuming so as not to disappoint ourselves upon reaching a furniture depot that does not offer the things we are looking for. We had Arroz Caldo with Tofu for breakfast. The weather still is scorching hot as the previous days, so I am really taking advantage to finish all of my writing task while the a/c is on! because I can’t really sit in front of the computer working for a long period of time with only the electric fan on. I am so looking forward for the hot weather to end soon.

I am also thankful and grateful that we were able to surpass another challenge. God really provides!  Now that both of the kids will be going to the same school and that would mean more expenses. Ian and I were looking for other opportunities where we could earn more.

Since my salary from my regular day job and online gig are not enough, we are thinking of venturing into a small business. We are praying for God’s guidance on this. I might be resigning to help him around (in which I really don’t mind) or I might look for another job that doesn’t really eat up most of my time for travel alone. Or much better if I can work from home.

For now, I just let things flow. God willing, things will fall into proper places.

Holding on and Keeping the Faith will help us go through in all these things.

My thoughts were filled with fear and doubts that I am close to giving up, I am so thankful that people around me were kind enough to understand what I am going through.

Last April 9 my father passed away and I came to realized how short life is, you just a see person one time and in a snap of time, he’s gone. Only memories are there to remember, and we’re all thankful that it was a happy and full of love.

Catching up is what I do now.

For the first of May, it’s all about LIFE.

• Gia (Ian’s niece) just gave birth to Xie wei, a healthy baby boy as cute as his older borther Xian   
• Birthday of Kuya Ivan (Ian’s older brother)
• Holiday (Labor Day) means no office work today! Yey! haha!
• Today is the feast day of St. Joseph, The worker and it’s our town’s fiesta!

Work wise, I got some writing to-do’s and I am happy =) I am crossing my fingers that there’s more to come. I am saving up for the kid’s tuition fee and their other educational expenses.
